Gustavo Formenti,
Director of Community Transformation
Gustavo Formenti was born and raised in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil
and grew up in a Christian home. He came to know the Lord at a very
young age and grew in understanding and commitment through the teaching
of an evangelical church and the hospitality of an L’Abri like
ministry called Colloquium in the heart of Brazil, a city called
Goiania.
Gustavo went to the Pontificia
Universidade Catolica de Goias where he graduated with a degree
in Law. He spent some time using his training in the context of the
non-profit sector in Brazil. However, he sensed a call to full-time
ministry and the Lord led him to Covenant Seminary in the spring of
2005. There Gustavo met his wife, Stephanie, and they were married in
January of 2008. Gustavo graduated from Covenant Seminary with an MDiv
degree and currently he and his wife are living in Cape Town, South
Africa where they are serving as interns with Mission to the World (MTW)
in various holistic ministries including ministry to street people and
refugees. In his free time, Gustavo enjoys running, reading, watching
movies, music, and being outdoors. He also enjoys good conversations
over coffee with his wife or friends.
