Project Ebenezer "Rock of Help"
Project Ebenezer completes Ministry in Action's holistic approach to the presentation of the Whole Gospel for the Whole Person: "Do and Teach". This is accomplished through local churches, in the name of Christ and for the glory of God, and gives a tangible expression of the love and compassion of Christ for persons. By the grace of God, MIA seeks spiritual and social transformation as well as economic development in targeted church communities in North America, the Caribbean islands, and in Latin America. Three types of projects are developed under Project Ebenezer:1. Service Projects - Any effort which provides a needed social or economic service to the community. Examples include: building schools, clinics, low income housing, daycare centers, and providing potable water to communities.
2. Biblical Free Enterprise - The development of small-scale economic projects given the natural resources and needs of the area. These endeavors provide employment and financial support for Project Ebenezer's service projects and also fund new local projects developed by the various churches we serve. The goal of biblical free enterprise projects is to empower persons, to give them dignity as creatures made in God's image, and to allow them to take care of their own basic everyday needs. Examples of biblical free enterprise projects include: crafts, bakery, raising poultry, pedigree sheep, and agriculture.
3. Disaster Relief and Recovery - Provides for immediate relief and recovery following natural disasters. This is done through local churches and Christian leaders to avoid waste and duplication of critical resources.Since its inception, Ministries In Action has successfully modeled Project Ebenezer in the Dominican Republic, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Maarten, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua, St. Lucia, Honduras, and the United States.
